So, what would warrant a post after so long a time. Well, as some of you may know, but doubt to care, I’ve been trying to take advantage of having a motorcycle during this time of high gas prices. Recently, I’ve been riding twice a week into work on days where the wife has class and will be late (namely, since I don’t have ti pick her up after work). Yesterday I had work-related item to take care of in Baltimore, so I rode there.
Man, talk about annoyingly rude and obnoxious drivers. Tailgating, cut-offs, and just general bad driving. I know I’m just a novice rider, but this would annoy an expert. I did get up there, do my duty at the data center, and then attempted to head back to work. First was a stop off at my favorite kabob place that changed ownership a year ago. The Chicken kabobs were too spicy, and on the trip back, I was fighting off kabob belches in my helmet, which is 1000 times worse then if a friend happen to let one rip in your car. Combine that with rain, although less than what I rode through in the evening, it made for an interesting ride. I did test the “speed” limits of the bike, on a dry straight light traffic area of I-95. Not due to the speed, but rather the feeling of the connection with the road, now ranks the motorcycle up there with the MINI in fun to drive.
Now, after taking almost two hours to come down from Baltimore to work, I did my time the rest of the day in “the suck” that is work at the moment.
