So, it’s been a while between truly meaningful posts, so I’ll try to catch everybody up.
First, I’ve upgraded the AV system. So we ordered FiOS.. finally some real TV (as if either of us needed to sit and watch more). But I felt I was missing out on some stuff. So we ordered a DVR Media hub, a HD box and a regular one. I got fed up with the DVR (cause I couldn’t hack it) and am returnign the HD and DVR to Verison after buying a TiVo Series 3 and SlingBox Pro. Now TV is everywhere! I’m also ripping and converting all my DVDs (mainly movies) to MPEG 4 files for inclusion on my media server.
Second, I’ve been busy and not so busy at work. Been working on building out a support site for our customers for SoundtrackNet. Kind of hopefully “self service” for most things, and a sign to them that we’re becoming more professional. I still need to fix the billing in the next few days before the next cycle of invoices hit. So that’s in the cards…
And finally, I’m starting a new job as IT Director for a small (but growing) IT Security firm in Alexandria, VA. It’ll kill with the commute, but the opportunity is promising (as opposed the mismash and boredom here now). The nice thing, is that it’s CompSec stuff AND IT Management, which is the best of both worlds. I was waiting on hearing back from another spot, and I may still wait to hear, but this one is close to perfect (yeah, even the pay).
Oh, one other note, I will try to keep the blog here, going a bit more fervently. I have a few “irons in the fire” on a few other projects, so I’ll try to space them out well.
